Preseason Hype Surrounding the Germantown Football Program

Germantown football has been building its program for many years. Coach Russell Mitchell enters his 4th season as the head football coach of the Germantown Mavericks. They appear to be more than ready to compete against the best teams in 7A. Many have already said this could be their most talented team yet. Last year, they won their first playoff game in 10 years. Coach Mitchell already has signature wins at the 7A level over elite programs including Starkville, Oxford, and Clinton. However, he is ready to take the next step with the Germantown football program and feels like this Maverick team is talented enough to do so. Others seem to feel the same about Germantown football as Mississippi Gridiron/Capitol Sports released their preseason high school football rankings this week, and the Germantown Mavericks received a number 9 ranking to kickoff the 2025 high school football campaign.
